  1. yes it runs on gas, and the gas goes into the motor, not in a tank attached by a hose. And without a doubt, this engine is too small fo what you want. You want atleast a 15 hp

  2. The motor in the picture runs on a mixture of gas and oil.  The tank is built into the top of the motor and the filler cap is visible in the picture. Use only 2 stroke oil with a  TCW 3 rating on the label and mix using a ratio of  50 parts gasoline to 1 part oil .  At most a 3 hp motor will push this boat about 6 mph wide open .throttle.

NOTE: Are you sure it's a 3.3hp??  There are no Mercury 3.3 hp motors listed on the chart at this site.

  3. Keith,  I couldnt get the pic to come up,  a 3.3 on a fiberglass boat?  Fiberglass is heavy,  I am going to say yes it runs on gas and my experience is that the tank is probably on the engine.  If you want to know anything about a mercury you need to talk to Chris Troutt at Troutt and Sons,  go to trouttandsons.com to take a look.  They have been doing this for over 30 years.
