  1. Whoever told you that cr@p is full of sh**. "Bigfeet" aren't cannibals. There is nothing that says Bigfoot has ever eaten anyone in either a real or made up story. Btw, "Bigfeet"-- hilarious!

  2. Technically, the term cannibal means that that the individual eats members of its own kind.  So, man eats man, is cannibalistic.  Monkey eating monkey is also.  However, man eating a monkey isn't.

The offensive term "bigfoot" is a name given to a species of "wild men" who have been known to Native Americans for ages.  While my language of NA languages is limited, I don't know of any names that mean "he who has a big foot." :)  Most seem to mean "wild men" or some other form of saying a man who is different from "us."  Hairy, large, smelly, and so on.

Generally, these "wild men" live in a system of tribes and in a family structure.  Male, female, offspring.  Like families bond together, in a way, and co-exist.  This is very much like primative man, the more advanced Native Americans, or modern "street gangs."  Violence is limited by the rules of the group, just like today's groups.  In fact, in many ways, they are very similar to man's basic nature.  If you are in a city, a gang may have an area they claim, and defend it as needed, just as the NA tribes did before whites and primative man did in the distant past.  If two tribes are similar, they may exist peacefully.  If, however, one is unlike the other, they may "war" with each other.  Unlike man, this is rare because they do not have the greed that man does.  However, tribes have been documented that are violent to both human and "wild men."  In this respect, there is a form of "cannibalism" that is found.  One type eats meat, and the other doesn't.  This is found in man as well, and to a lesser amount in apes.

To my knowledge, no "Wild Man" has eaten a human, or even killed one.  They have attacked humans, but even this is rare as man kills whenever given a chance and the Wild men are not stupid enough to attack firearms.  There has been one documented "kidnapping" case, though it is debatable if the man is being honest or not.  One account says that he was to mate with the daughter of his kidnapper, and the other is just a simple case of abduction out of curiousity.  I should note that that is in the US.  Europe has one account, Russian I believe, where a female was captured and learned to live in a human settlement.  The local human men, being what they are, mated with her and it is reported she gave birth to several children, of mixed blood.  The records list a good bit of information, but no actual proof has been found and documented.  Blood, DNA, hair, and so on seem to be rare.  However, I was informed that some material was recovered from an area in Canada, called Snow Lake or something, where the tests showed that it was largely human, but with primate elements, resulting in an unknown classification as of yet.  If not a hoax, this could be the first real evidence of a relative of human beings.

Of course, all of this is based on history and verbal legends passed down over time.  Wild Men have been seen in almost every state of the Union and are very common to lore.  "What" they really are, mutations to "missing links," is open to debate.  However, If you ever do meet one, do not try to make contact.  Treat it like a wild animal and back off.  Man has proven itself an enemy to every natural creature in our world and it may attack out of feelings of threat.  Most seem peaceful, but any cornered animal (including man) is dangerous, double so if female with young.

I hope this helps some, though I admit that most is speculation based on studies and experience with other creatures.  I'm afraid my degree in Psychology pushes me to guess what goes on in the minds of others.  Having seen some things that rationally "can't" exist, I guess I just keep hoping to find a reason why they do. :)
