  1. It really depends on the place.

    I've worked in a family restaurant and had to make time just to go pee in a 7/8 hour shift. I did that for almost 9 years!!

    But where I'm at now the mgr understands how hard (physically AND mentally) the job is, and only schedules 4-6 hr shifts. Lovin' it!!

  2. Yes, that is the norm. You get lunch OR dinner. I've always worked at nice places & rarely work 8 hours. My job now I work  10:15 to 2 or 3 or 4.    6 hours max. There are girls that pull doubles, that can be 10:15-8 or 9.

  3. Depends on your restaurant...  many servers work 25-35 hours a week and this is considered full time hours.

    I have worked in the industy 15 yrs most shifts are 5-6 hours or so depending where you work.  when i work doubles i'm looking at 14 hour days.
