Kay, so last night, I was reading a book in my bed, its 1:10am and I hear the door downstairs try to open, all of my family was home, so I dont think it was any of them, and right now, Im like scared out of my life that whoever tried to brake in will come back, and what makes me sure someone tried to brake in?

What/Whoever it was only tried to open the door once, but it was locked, I heard some things, then yeah,

Then today when I told my friends, one of them, who also lives in my area, told me that alot of houses in the Kenilworth area have been broken into lately, so my question is,

Tonight, if it happenes again, what should I do? Im the only one up late enough to hear these things, and I'm not even 13 yet, so, any advice?

  1. tips:

    - tell parents

    - keep phone at hand

    - get a weapon (ex. baseball bat or something to hit them with)

    - lock all doors and windows

    - you may want to put funiture in front of the door and if you have curtains close them.

    - tell family to lock their doors and maybe put furniture in front of bedroom doors

    - keep all valuables hidden

  2. If you ever think your house is being broken into, tell your parents then CALL THE POLICE! Better safe than sorry.

  3. Did you call the poeleese about the BRAKE IN?

  4. maybe tell your parents!

  5. Make sure all doors & windows are secure and if you have a pet like a dog or a cat put it in the room you sleep in. Animals sense fear and they may comfort you or if you have a dog that's like mine that barks every time someone knocks or goes on my porch then that's an advantage because most theives are less likely to try and break in a house if they hear a dog barking. Also, leave a light on that's not too close to the door but close enough to be seen from outside the house they're less likely to come back if they think someone is up. Once when I was 13, my best friend slept over and she woke me up at like 5 am because she thought she heard someone trying to break in so we fearfully went downstairs and she grabbed a small chalkboard (don't ask lol) and I grabbed something off my wall and we went downstairs and once we got in the kitchen I got a pan and walked around with it. But it turned out there was no one there and it was all okay. Tonight, keep something with you like a pan or an umbrella. Anything that will hurt so if they do come back, you're prepared. Try not to worry about it so much because that only stresses you out more and makes you more tense.
