  1. First off, if you held your guitar in your lap and looked at the neck, tab lines correspond to the strings going from top to bottom:

    e------ (1st string)

    B------ (2nd string)

    G------ (3rd string)

    D------ (4th string)

    A------ (5th string)

    E------ (6th string)

Now, the numbers in tab represent the FRET at which you place your fingers on. A "0" indicates an open string, pick the string without holding it down. You have to figure out which fingers to use since tab doesn't give you that information.

Numbers stacked on top of each other are played all together, and are chords.

So for the tab that you're attempting to play, you'll only be playing the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd strings. You'll be going back and forth between playing chords and single notes, starting from the left. You read tab like how you would read a book: from left to right.

  2. Hi Alex

The 0 represents to play the string open as in this case, the small e-string.

The number represents the fret where to put your finger and here, you have to play on the 11th fret, the 6th , the 8th the 4th

The other strings don't have anything, don't touch them.
