Someone used VNC illegally on my computer through a malicious download?

I figured out that someone was using vnc and was doing things on my computer. The question is, can it really harm someones computer? like can they delete system files and destroy you computer completely?

  1. Yes, of course it can .. in fact chances are you have already been 'taken over' and are now part of some illegal spam 'bot net' ..

    1) unplug your phone cable, reset your router to 'factory settings', enter a new password, make sure the router Firewall is enabled, block all ports except 80 (internet) and set 'invisible mode' (do not reply to ping/ICMP, do not reply to port scan)

    2) Change your computer password(s), install a decent firewall (eg Zone Alarm) on your PC that can be set to block all attempts by your PC to act as a 'server'.

    3) disinfect your PC using anti-virus/ anti-root kit tools -

    - if that fails, back-up your data files (only), wipe the hard disk (re-partition and reformat) and re-install Windows ..


  2. yes they have created spyware on your computer which is illegal

    they can do anything they want on your computer..for example shut down and everything

    i suggest you take out the internet plug until it gets fixed because without it they cant control your computer
