Someone who has been there?

Is there any mothers out there that were told to stay on their paxil while pregnent and if so did your child come out fine?thanks to mature answers.

i was told to but i took myself off it. i was never going to risk my children to anything that could potentially harm them.q

i think you have to weigh how much the paxil helps you to the  relative "unknown" risk to the baby.

if the paxil helps you tremendously and you can't imagine your life without it...  i think it would be a no-brainer to stay on it.

if you're unsure whether the paxil regulates your moods much differently, i'd say it would probably best to try it off the paxil and have a low threshold of trying a safer antidepressant (zoloft, prozac) if you feel that you're not doing well off your paxil.

either way, it IS important to take care of your depression during your pregnancy- almost as important as "how it will effect the baby"... because your happiness.. means your baby's happiness.
