I'm going to Mexico next week. I know the rules have changed since I last went. I know you need your birth certificate and ID. But, does the BC have to have the raised seal on it?? I just ordered mine and it has it but my daughter's, who was only born in 1999, does not. Hers is certified because it says it on the bottom but I just need to know if the raised seal matters. thanks

  1. You need a passport.

I don't think you're going to Mexico next week, or at least, you're not going to get past the border without a passport, which takes MONTHS to get.

  2. Some states gIve certified birth certificates that do not have a raised seal...if it is not just a copy machine copy...but is the original from the state, then it should be fine.   You are right, you do not need a passport at this time fir LAND travel to Mexico...other answerer is mistaken.
