I want to hang some wood sticks from a ceiling with one uncut section of rope per side by using different knots and a hook on each side. I made a little diagram picture of one side if that helps. I need to be able to slip the bottom knot to make the loop it creates larger and smaller again to pull things out and put them back in as I need to use them. When I put the items back in, I would like to be able to tug it a bit and it slips back to hold the items tightly through the use of gravity. The top loop I want to hang from ceiling hooks and I don't want it to move. They don't have to be strong, as the wood pieces are light. Sorry for the weird description but I don't know anything about knots and could use some advise. If you know the name of a particular knot that would work for either the top or the bottom knot, you can just tell me so I can look up a diagram. 10 pts thanks.

  1. Hi Lyndsay!

For the top knot you can use a bowline, I'd suggest a clove hitch to wrap around the wood using the rope left over from making the bowline.

Here's a website that shows you how to make various knots!

    Hope this helps!
