What do the numbers on the irons stand for? is it the type of angle? someone plz help

  1. It stands for the iron and generally speaking the loft. The higher the number the greater the loft.


  2. The numbers represent what number golf club it is.

    They go in Reverse order so the lower the number the further the ball should go if you hit the ball correctly with that club.

    Numbers on Irons:

    Standard Numbers = 3/4/5/6/7/8/9 - You will get irons with these numbers on in 99% of golf sets you purchase.

    You can also have = 1/2/10
