At stumps on the first day of the four-day tour match between Somerset and the Australians, the hosts piled 320 runs, leaving their guests trailing by 318 runs with ten wickets remaining in the first innings, at County Ground, Taunton.
It was initially a rough day for the Australians who got hammered everywhere by Somerset’s upper-order but a late comeback managed to halt the hosts from posting something beyond 400 runs on the opening day.
