Somerset sign Alviro Petersen – Cricket News Update
Somerset have signed South African opening batsman, Alviro Petersen, for the first half of their County Champion campaign for the next season.
The 31-year-old has already represented http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glamorgan-c784 in the English domestic circuit, moves which have considerably helped him gain a permanent place in the national team. He has further been among the run scorers for the Proteas in recent times, scoring 241 runs against England during the team’s July-August tour. Overall, he is closing in on 10,000 career first-class runs.
His decision to sign for the Taunton based county comes days after his Test skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Surrey-c851 as their captain on a three-year-deal. Peterson’s stint nonetheless, will be a short one as he will only be available until the beginning of the Friends Life T20.
