Somerset v Nottinghamshire: Friends Life Twenty20 – 2nd Quarter-Final – Somerset’s Innings
Somerset had to chase down 170 runs for victory in the Quarter-Final match of the Friends Life Twenty20 against Nottinghamshire at the Trent Bridge, Nottingham in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 on Sunday, August 7, 2011.
There have been some very high scores from the Somerset team in this year’s tournament. However, the pressure of a knockout game can cause a few problems for any team.
This was not the case for the visitors though, as they achieved the target in just 19.1 overs. Although none of the team’s batsmen managed to score a half-century, a couple of solid contributions made the chase easier.

The pitch was still very good for the batsmen, but there was some cloud cover over the field, which suggested some assistance for the new ball bowlers.
However, it rained for some time and luckily for the fans, the clouds moved away without doing much damage to the field. No over was lost in the visitors’ innings and conditions remained good for batting.

Pollard remained unbeaten on 47 runs from 25 balls, clobbering two fours and four huge sixes. He got tremendous support from Buttler, who ended up with 34 runs from 14 balls.
Nottinghamshire’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Luke-Fletcher-c1855 was the pick of the bowlers for his side, picking up one wicket for 22 runs in his four-over spell.
