On the penultimate day of the ongoing four-day match between Somerset and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warwickshire-c862, the latter lead by 212 runs, with seven wickets in hand, at County Ground, Taunton.
Friday saw Warwickshire resuming their first innings from an overnight tally of 387 runs, with JO Troughton on a massive total of 132 and KHD http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Barker-c47300 on six.
However, this was a terrible morning for them, as with the addition of only a run in the overall total, they lost the services of Troughton, who perished without adding a run to his overnight tally.
With the main batsman decommissioned, Somerset, took a sigh of relief and knew this was their time to crawl back in the match.
However, it was only after they had been hammered for a total of 400 runs, when they tasted their second wicket of the day on dismissing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JS-Patel-c1747, who fell after scoring six runs.
On the next delivery, Barker became the last wicket from his side to fall in the first innings, after he had clobbered 12 runs.
It was then time for Somerset to begin their first innings, but failed to put initial pressure, as they lost their first wicket with only a tally of 19 on the board, with opener AWR Barrow falling after scoring an innings of two runs.
However, the side made quick comeback in the game as AV Suppiah and NRD Compton forged a potent partnership to halt their opponents from taking the game away.
Nonetheless, with a tally of 87 runs, the daunting partnership met its doom on the wicket of Suppiah, who found his way back to the dressing room after jabbing a well tamed innings of 54 runs.
Later, in the match, Compton forged another befitting partnership with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/C-Kieswetter-c1206, as the two hammered knocks of 73 and 44.
The team, however, failed to overcome the tally posted by the opposition as they crumbled on 254 runs, as JS Patel from Warwickshire was ruthless with his seven-wicket haul.
Beginning their second innings, Warwickshire managed to amass 66 runs for the loss of three wickets at stumps.
