Something's eating my sunflower seedlings?

I planted a couple sunflower seedlings and they are about an inch hign but I noticed within the last couple days that one leaf has been completely chewed off of one and the other leaf looks like it has bites out of it while the other plant has been completely chewed through the stem. I see a ton of slugs around but nothing else. Are they the culprits? And what can I do?

  1. Could be the slugs. Put a tray out with beer in it. The slugs are attracted to the beer but will die in it.
