Does the idea of an aurora in a bottle sound feasible? It would be like a ship in a bottle sort of thing, except this would be like a nightlight sorta, or something just in general to look at when there's no light. What do you think? Could it be possible? Not now, necessarily, but with technology in the next 10-20 years...

The closest thing that's easy to recreate is to hold a fluorescent tube near a radio transmitter of more than a few watts.  It can be done more realistically, see the second reference.
