Something Tara to stamp the Molson Coors Sprint Trophy at Nottingham on 16th April
Nottingham will become home for the Molson Coors Sprint Trophy over 305 metres on Monday, 16th April. Taking up the challenge for the race that carries the £150 purse are Hazy Purty, Something Tara, Bradgate Star, Funworld Boy, Rushmoor Tony and
Ballymac Mozart.
One of the brightest entries for the race is Something Tara, Ballymac Maeve’s four-year-old black son out of b***h, Something Savage. He started off the new season by claiming a 268 metres race at Kinsley on 13th March by clocking the track distance
in 16.48 seconds. He led the runner up of the race, Trivial Pursuit, by a length.
The trainer, D. Deakin, could not have wished for a better start to the new season.
The four-year-old did not wait for long to toss yet another success on the profile as he bagged the very next start that came his way. On 24th March, Something Tara, won a Grade D1 268 metres flat at Kinsley by timing the track distance in 16.22
seconds.
The 7/4 favourite winner took charge by ¾ of a length and shoved Rockchase Ryves into the runner up’s slot. He settled the distance in 16.28 seconds and was soon followed by Demesne Pearl.
This was till yet the last race during the 2012 season that ended as a success.
For attaching a third victory to the pair that was already struck and turning it into a hat trick, D. Deakin drilled Something Tara over 245 metres on 1st April for which he took 14.89 seconds.
His success was so assured that Something Tara was entered as the 7/4 favourite in the Windoor Services Sprint on 9th April at Pelaw Grange. However things did not turn out as planned and anticipated because Something Tara ended fourth after taking
15.00 seconds to race through the wire.
The race was won by Barrigone Wind who timed the distance in 14.66 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Ballymac Mozart, by two lengths.
Settling third behind the winner was No Gamble.
The fourth start of the season promises quite high chances for the third success during 2012. He has been very lightly raced after the training session and thus has enhanced chances of making it beyond the wire before the rest.
