I can't have soy products of any kind and there are a few things I would like to make that have soy sauce as an ingredient. Any suggestions for a replacement?

  1. worchesterchire sauce

  2. Maggi Brand Season sauce is like Fake soy sauce..it tastes just like it..but has NO soy

    They sell it at walmart

    =]]

  3. Southeast Asians use high quality fish sauce instead of regular soy sauce for flavoring. Higher quality brands don't taste fishy at all and pretty much exactly the same as soy sauce.  I like Squid brand, but Tiparos would work.

  4. i know the label says soy,  but salt is, by far, the major taste.

to tell the truth, these days, i'm trying to use lime juice.

i like it better than lemon, i think.  and it seems to mix well.

  5. soy sauce is almost the liquefied state of salt. a thinned tamarind sauce or teriyaki sauce might be an alternative, but the taste won't be the same. if a dish has a large number of ingredients, soy sauce won't impact the meal by much

  6. Worcestershire Sauce.....and I personally think it tastes better than soy sauce.  :)

  7. I think that I would just omit it and not try to put in a replacement condiment...you might ruin the whole thing.

  8. Soy Sauce is salty & ads a salty flavor. You can substitue Soy Sauce with any of the following depending your taste here are some:

    1. Beef Stock = Cheap Powdered Beef Bouillon mix w/little water.

    2. Fish Sauce

    3. Worchestershire Sauce

    4. You can mix molasses and balsamic vinegar and get a similar flavor. Sugar & a pinch of salt (if you want) google it.

    5. Salt

It depends on your taste buds & recipes that you are make. Try each one some dishes go well with using beef stock or the molasses/vinegar mix or even fish sauce or even just plain salt. You need to find what works.

  9. Ponzu Soy Sauce.

its like  soy sauce but w/a lemony twist to it. (:

  10. hoisen sause

  11. I don't know if either of these have soy in them, but its worth a shot...Teriyaki sauce, Braggs liquid aminos (found at health food stores),
