If the numbers 1 and 3 get infinitely close to 2, how can number 2 exist?

  1. Because the limit of "2" is "2". The limit of a constant is a constant. As you approach 2 from the left the result is 2. Same as for the right. When you take the limit of 3 approaching 2 you get 2. Therefore the limit of 2 is 2.


  2. if number two didn't exist, then niether would 1 or 3.

    there are no numbers only units
