Something different?!?

Question

I have to complete a history project for my exams but i have no idea what to do it on. I want something different and interesting.

Any suggestions?

How about doing your project on the history of hobos; you know the people who use to "bum" rides on the railroad.  They live in a whole different world which includes their own language.  These people are also referred to as bums and vagabonds.

Do it one of my favourite historical people:  Toussaint  Louverture.

Born a slave to an enslaved prince, he learnt how to read and led the slaves to victory against Napoleon's France, establishing the World's first Black republic.

He was captured by the French - the route from the port to the prison he was to die in in the alps was lined with soldiers who saluted him as a great general and liberator.

Oddly enough, how about a report on the Wright Bro.s VS Glenn Curtiss law suit over the "invention" of "Wing Warping Technology" VS that of Ailerons?  They sued Curtiss, but in all honesty, it was Dr. Alexander Graham Bell who came up with the idea of ailerons.  The federal government made them drop the suit and share information due to the U.S. involvement in WW I.  And, after the war, the two combined to make one powerhouse aircraft manufacturing company.  It's a litle off-the-cuff, but should be worth some points because it's so different.
