  1. HI sarah!

i will be (hoefully) giving you some fun things for your rats to do!

1~ get an old seed tray and fill with natural soil with no chemicals, poisons, or small insects.

Add bird seed and water untill some shoots appear.

Dont water for 1 day so that the rats wont get all mucky!

2~ fill a bowl with cold water, and add a few frozen peas, the rats will love fishing for the peas! (this is also a good idea for hot summer days)

3~ give them a simple brown paper bag, they will love shreeding the paper up + they will also make a bed out of it!

4~ get some kitchen roll and fill with treats, wrap severel piecs around it so the rats have to rip it up to get to the treats. Then once finshed tie and bobble or elastic band around the top so that it wont som undone!

Hope this helps + good lukc with your rats

    Love from,

    Rach x

  2. Nuts in their shell, whole hard boiled eggs (still in their shell), egg boxes filled with their food that they have to chew through, treats threaded onto climbing ropes - all sorts if you use your imagination :-)

  3. I saw in a local pet shop a chew toy that was made of different chewing blocks fastened together encasing a large nut. The point was to chew thru the wood to get the nut. It keeps the teeth trim and gived the guy a snack. I would have gotten it for my little guy, but he's still small yet and I don't thin he would have been able to eat the nut.

  4. Get a firm peice of string or someone of that rope-like string and loop like cheerios and stuff through it and hang it around the cage or get a little ball with holes in it and put seeds in it

  5. my rats love to shred paper towels. they also love to chew on Nurtiphase rat sticks that have nuts and dried fruit on it. also, if you don't have a hammock for your rats, you should get one because my rats absolutely love to lounge in theirs.

  6. i thinkg that if you got some pvc pipes(large enough for the rats to easily fit in) and made a maze type thing out of it and had a treat at one of the ends for them to get would be great for them and for your knowledge... it will show you how smart your rats ACTUALLY ARE!

  7. you can buy white filled bones from the pet shop. they filled with coloured stuff and are for dogs. rats love them. when they eaten the coloured stuff you can mix foods together n stuff the bone again.mine love them.

  8. I give my hamster toilet rolls with the food inside and fold both the ends like a coin roll.  It did take a coulple tries to get it so the food didn't fall out but once I figured it out they had a lot of fun chewing it to bits.

How about drilling some holes in some large nuts and then stringing lem like beads?

  9. get a toilet roll tube or a small cardboard box and fill it with small animal bedding then put the food inside it.

i mean inside the cardboard tube and put bedding or paper in it

  10. It's called a joke..

Anyway, on a serious note.. That sounds good enough for them anyway doesn't it? I wouldn't make them work to much for their food, they'll probably become frustrated.

    Thats sounds perfect.

Don't use toilet roll then, use newspaper and rap it up real tight. They love ripping them apart to get at the food.

  11. When I had rats they loved toilet roll tubes and kitchen roll tubes. We put food in those. We also tied string round bits of carrots, fruit, etc. and hung them in the cage. Ratties loved them. You could even suspend a tube with food in to make it extra hard for them!!!!
