Something is eating the flowers on my squash plants!?

Could it be squerrels? Help! Any ideas how I can protect my futre crop? I am a first time gardener.

  1. It could be a number of things really. It could just be caterpillars or a number of other things, if there was already an open way to the inside of the fruit ants might have made it worse. Squirrels may have done it but your gardan would have to be away from  your house. Many squirrels dont like to get in human area.


  2. Probably slugs and snails. You can buy pellets to scatter round the plants to get rid of the slugs and snails.

    buy a 20 gauge and blow those squirrels to the next world!

  4. It could be rabbits or gophers. If you live next to a canyon or a valley then it is most likely rabbits. Gophers love to eat the flowers and the fruit as well.
