Something is going on in the little town i live in?

i moved here about a year ago, i'm 19. my mom is letting this man keep his goats on our land. i met him, talked to him, now everybody stares at me. when i'm driving they stare, it's crazy. i asked him about it, because i thought i was crazy.. and he just told me to wave at them. i think it's a loser thing to do .. to stare at a girl when your gf is in the truck with you, now i have woman staring at me.. why do they stare at me?? i know it sounds stupid but i think it's crazy and rude to do to someone, i know i wouldn't welcome someone into where i'm from by just starring at them.. please help me.. what can i do??

Have you thought they were trying to be friendly, and when they looked at you, you may have returned it with a sour face?

You needn't wave at them--how about a smile?

Put the whole thing in perspective. Try not to be too suspicion of others.

ppl in towns and things of that nature tend to stare simply because they don't know who you are and are naturally nosey. you'll find that everyone knows everyone and their families. so here you come all brand new so they're starring. they don't look at it as rude but trust once they leave their humble little towns and face whats around them they realize real quick and get with the program. trust me, i have family from small towns who moved outside of their comfort zone and thats the first thing they had to learn and they did so very quickly. so don't take offense to it even though it drives you crazy i completely understand. just pass and say something like hello, or how you doing something nice you don't have to be over board friendly but show them you're not to be starred at like some science project.

Try getting more friendly with these people who are suddenly staring at you and after a while they might just tell you what the matter is or if there is nothing wrong at least you won't have a reason to worry.

I think that they are looking at you because you have goats on your land.

I know that you probably don't live in the kind of neighborhood that I do, but if I had a goat (or any farm animal) on my front lawn, people would definitely stare. They would even stop completely and stare. Might even call up their friends and try to feed it while the others stare.

Is the goat man crazy? Guilty by association. Maybe people are connecting you with the goat man and now they are suspicious. Maybe he's a bad guy... or maybe he's crazy and people are trying to warn you. Or try to understand you.

I think waving is a little rediculous, aha, but if you give them a mini smile or even make eye contact with them, the people would probably stop staring. People don't like eye contact. Don't let it get to you, perhaps you are just a good lookin' kid & they can't help but stare aha. It is rude for them to stare, you aren't in the wrong, don't worry. If you loosen up a little, you'll start to think clear again and it won't bug you as much, just smileee [:
