So, the deal is my sister got Guitar Hero 3 for Christmas and we played for quite awhile. My cousins came over, and they got rock band, so we played that for a little while. So we took out Rock Band so we could play guitar hero and there were these scratches on it, in a circle, going around the cd. So we figured it must be because the 360 fell over and now its scratched. So we tried guitar hero 3 and when we took it out it was scratched, without the 360 having fallen over. My mom was going to buy a cleaner thing for the inside of the 360, but my brother said its not good for the system, meaning it doesn't need to be cleaned. I don't think its a faulty 360. My brother works at Best Buy and he said something about how alot of the guitar heroes have been recalled or something like that. Well, if you know whats wrong or what I should do, please please please reply and give your thoughts.

This is not what causes the games to be scratched. Microsoft admit to the drive causing the d**k or cd to scratch

You need to read these links and see if there is a warranty on the xbox with defected parts.

  2. Its doesnt just happen to guitar hearo, This will happen to any game that is in the 360. when the 360 is on and you move it around, or it falls it will create a ring of scratches around the game.

For example, if you are playing a game and the 360 is on it's side, and you decide to set it down flat while the game is in and it is turned on, this will create those scratches... Aslo microsoft will not do anything to refund you for the game because they have a warning for it in the 360 manual.

There is no cleaner that will fix it because it is a normal thing the 360 does. also no cleaner or scratch remover will be able to fix that disc.

The only thing you can do now is to either buy a new guitar hero or do what I usually do and just do the old swap trick at blockbuster or any other game rental store. The store will not take it back either because the scratches were not there when the game was purchased.

  3. I would not take any chances with such a valuable piece of entertainment.  I would stop playing the game and turn off the xbox and bring it back to the place it was purchased ASAP.  Don't use it anymore as you might damage it further.  Get yourself a new box as most states warranty such damages.
