Something special for my Dad's birthday...?

I want to do something extra special for my Dad's birthday on Friday. My Mom is out of town, taking my older brothers to college, and he's kinda gloomy cause she's not around. She's gonna be gone for his birthday, so I want to do something, to make it special, even though she's gone. I'm making a cake, or a cobbler or something, but what else can I do? My little brothers are making him cards, and we're gonna cook him his favorite dinner, but what else? Idea's are welcome, thanks bunches guys!
