  1. I think their protests are more about the rainforest trees or destroying woodland to make way for roads, but you are making a good point there

    thanks for the thumb down

  2. Environmentalists are NOT against using wood.  We are against destroying established forests, rain forests, and animal habitat.  Much of our wood comes from sustainable harvesting, meaning we cut down trees and plants several new trees to replace it.  This is called tree farming.

It's possible to buy wood from sustainable sources.  This is where any responsible environmentalist would purchase their wood.

Also, it's possible they are reusing old signs by painting over them.  Reusing old items is always better than making them new or even recycling them.

  3. lol that woz brilliant mate! yeh i guess they are being hypocrits... oh the irony....

Noooooo!!! i got spyware on ma machine....

  4. Would you rather they use paper?

  5. It not that people are against using wood all together.. im sure if they have a house there is wood in it. Its just that there is barly any natural forest left in the world. and the eco system that is surrounded by that forest would be destroyed and animales would be displaced, and it would ruin the lanscape. This is why they have tree farms and alternitive ways of producing wood.

  6. They are using recycled wood.  When they finish with their protest, they use the wood to build a fence in their back yard.

  7. Great point I never thought of that, but heres a few of the ones that i think about.

    1. Why is it illegal to watch p**n until you are 18 but you can have s*x at 16!!

    2.  You can stand outside a police station and smoke a joint as long as you only have enough for yourself, but if you throw the butt on the floor you will get a £75 fine.

    3.  In my local Asda you can buy Ciggarettes at 16 but need to be 18 to purchase a lighter!!!

    Crazy stuff!!!

  8. Important message conveyed through such protests is to adopt practices of reduction of timber use- sustainability of resources and environment together.

    thnks

  9. Some trees take a short time to mature (pine for instance) and we make wood products with them.  Other deciduous trees take such a long time to mature and are habitats for large amounts of creatures that they are important to save.

  10. Perhaps they are using cardboard signs? Isn't cardboard already recylced from old cardboard?

But you have a good point there. It is a crazy world!!

  11. ahahha wow great catch

    they should use....

    plastic!!

    its recycable

    but thats pretty funny :]
