  1. Canal tour, rent some bikes and ride through Vondelpark (there may be some entertainment happening there--sorry I didn't research that for you), the Nemo Museum (fun science stuff for kids).

  2. In the Netherlands many things open only Sunday afternoon, but Artis, the zoo in Amsterdam is open each day from 9 am.

Sunday morning is a great time to walk through Amsterdam, as it is a quiet time and the buildings will be at their best.

Nemo, someone mentioned it already, is open from 10 am:

Depending on the age of your children, and their interests you could maybe also visit one of the many museums, but check opening times in each case:

And of course, there are canal tours, canal bikes, (make reservations to be sure that the place will be open when you arrive, or take them on one of the many city bike tours or go for the scooter tour (I have seen one but never seen which company runs them), if they are big enough. (Phone ahead to be sure there are bikes in their size.)

  3. You could go to Westerkirk or Norderkirk. You can see both churches all over the city.

  4. Go to church

  5. Artis, kids love the zoo!
