I heard rumors about a white / other color coating inside certain food tin cans called vinyl, its scratchable, like paint.

There's white stuff inside certain cans like chunky food, beans, habitat etc.

Some people says its vinyl and when you eat the food you consume some which is Carcinogen in long terms.

Is it true the coating is vinyl?

  1. no, there are traces of BPA a chemical also found in plastic bottles with a 5 or 7 on the bottom. It isnt much, but its bad for pregnant women because supposedly it can hurt the fetus, as it has been shown to cause cancer in like mice and small animals' babies.

Its one big debate. Cuz now they are saying its not bad, then it is...

If ur pregnant avoid it (cuz i am) and limit canned things to children.

If ur real worried, eat as much fresh food and things that come in a glass, or store your foods in glass not tin or plastic. Dont heat things in tin, cans or plastic either. Most disposable water bottles are fine.

And if this is all true and its horrible, well the effects take a while to hurt you and of course the food companies wont tell us til everyone knows cuz all they care about it money.

and that white c**p in there is normal

  2. I wouldn't think they would use anything dangerous as a liner.

  3. The white coating in cans are used for acidic vegetables and fruits such as tomatoes to keep them from eating through the can, and increases their shelf life. It's not dangerous.
