Something wrong with my mom?

Question

so last night my mom asked me if i was going to go to work the following day and i said i dont know maybe (its not like a real job i just go help out at a doctors office)

so when she leaves the next morning she takes my sister with her thinking i was going to work (she takes my sister so she wouldnt be home alone)

she gets home the kitchen is clean the family room is clean like she wanted and my dad tells her i didnt go to work

i hear her yelling in the family room and she stomps to me and yell HOW DARE YOU LIE TO ME YOU TOLD ME LAST NIGHT YOU WERE GOING TO WORK AND YOUR POOR SISTER IS SO BORED AT WORK DO NOT TALK TO ME I AM VERY UPSET WITH YOU

to all those moms out there...is there something wrong with my mom? shes had these outbursts lately and i dont even do anything wrong! did i? she shouldve asked me when she left in the morning or told me the night before she wanted to leave my sister i think...

ps im about to go to college in like 2 wks dunno if thats affecting her? or what thanks!

You two aren't communicating effectively. She should have just come right out and asked you to watch your sister if that's what she wanted.

Yup, something is wrong with your mom: she is trying to find a way to let you go.

So many people have huge fights right before the child moves out.  She must be full of so many mixed feelings right now.  I cried all summer, over everything, before my first child went off to college.  We fought about food, shoes, hair color, work hours, chores, you name it.  Now that my second child is about to go, I recognize that the thing that is making me so irritable is the fact that I will miss him.

It easier to say good bye to someone you are mad at! If I were you, I would just apologize, hug her, and let it go.

I think that it's the college thing affecting her.  Bu maybe you should have told her when you saw her taking your sister that you didn't plan on going to work that day!

Your mom is going to miss you so she gets upset about little things.  On the other hand, you could have told her you weren't going to work.  Do you get paid to help out at the doctor's office?  If you do, then it is a job.  Were they waiting for you?  You can't expect her to guess what you are going to do.  When she asked you the night before and you changed your mind you could have told her.
