  1. Power cycles often have small surges, so make sure you use a surge protector. You may need to hit reset on the bar.

The powerbar is fine? Then try this. Unplug. Wait 2 minutes. Plug it in again. Usually Viola!

Modern electronics often have intelligent power controllers. Essentially, this is what makes your remote work, since a small signal can switch on your TV. The power cycle can confuse the controller and cause it to crash. Unplugging and waiting usually resets it and most things go back to normal. If still nothing, then have your TV checked out. Some TV's have a safety fuse in them.

For your own safety, always have your TV serviced by a professional. Never open the back yourself. Your TV uses voltages that may exceed 50,000 Volts and it can stay inside even after being unplugged and it stores enough to kill you. NEVER OPEN THE COVER YOURSELF!

  2. A momentary loss of power can damage electronic equipment.  It is often accompanied by an increase in voltage after the loss ends.  Either can cause permanent damage.  The only thing you might be able to fix is if there is a fuse or circuit breaker in the set that you can reach (not likely, however).  If you live in an area subject to power glitches you should connect important electronics to a battery backup unit.  That will prevent both low voltage and excess voltage from reaching the equipment.

  3. it may have actually shorted your tv out but do u have it plugged into a power strip? if so it might have a reset button u need to push :(
