Sometimes, before sitting on the saddle, horse riders go in front of their horse, pull it forward. Why?

I need to answer this question and I have 4 choices

1-So that the horse has longer gaits

2-To avoid skin folds under the strap which could cause wounds

3-To make the horse more docile

4-To warm up their horse's tendons

  3. to warm up the horse race horses are very like i want to go now but you have to warm up horses leg just like you do if you go for a run. they lead them to make them walk for a while before taking off running.

  4. your question says "pull 'it' forward"...  that makes it sound like it's referring to the saddle.  however, all of the answers seem to refer to the horse's legs...  so that's the question I'm answering...  once the rider has saddled the horse and prepared to get on, the rider will pull each of the horse's legs forward...  the answer is 2...  you don't want the skin girth pinching the horse's skin, so that's why you'd pull the legs forward.
