Question:

Sometimes my car won't start

Sometimes when I go to start my car (1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria LX, 5.0 302 V8), it will not turn over. It will start after I pull my gear shift down into a gear (doesn't matter which one). It doesn't always do this. Any ideas as to what could cause this?

  1. You say it will crank when you pull it into a gear. Do you put it in park again?? Sounds like it might be your neutral safety switch. If you have it in park when it won't crank try just pulling down or pushing up the shift lever A LITTLE. if it starts, replace the switch.
