Sometimes my computer resets itself randomly but I don't have a virus?

I've scanned my computer completely and the only thing it detects are low tracking cookies which are easy to terminate. But my computer resets by itself every once in a while. Sometimes it results in lost work. Any possible reasons?

  1. You should receive professional Malware removal support from a site like http://geekpolice.net/

I recommended it because they provide real fast support and a cure is guaranteed.

  2. Is your computer making noises or humming? Is dust collecting visibly on the external fan surface?

  3. download superantispyware

    and run a scan.

  4. Just format your computer and save all the necessary files before formatting then every thing will be OK

  5. There might be a problem with one of devices on the system.  Unfortunately, without details its impossible to identify which device and what sort of problem it has.

To identify the problem, you can deactivate the auto restart "feature" of windows.  (NOTE: these are instructions for windows XP - if you have a different operating system, please update your question.) To do this, right click My Computer and select properties.  From the window that pops up look for the advanced tab.  Under the advanced tab, there should be a section for start up and recovery, click settings there.  In the new window that pops up, in the System failure section, uncheck the Automatically restart check box.  Click ok on everything to return to your desktop.

Now if there is an error, instead of the computer restarting, you will be presented with a blue screen, with white text.  Note down the error message - this is the likely source of the problem.  If your computer is still under warranty, I suggest you ring-up the help-desk for the manufacturer and get them to have a look at it, otherwise, post back here and we can try helping you out.

  6. Download Superantispyware and run a scan. Or try XoftSpySE from ParetoLogic.

  7. PUT ANTHER WINDOWS

  8. Likely culprit is Windows Update.  Windows updates on what is affectionately known in the IT world as "Patch Tuesday".  Depending on your setup when this occurs Window can auto-apply all patches and if necessary reboot your computer.

  9. it could be something simple like, maybe your power outlet is malfunctioning, try moving it some where else and see if thats the case.

  10. It's running hot?

  11. look  this happen with me in my workstation a lot. so check the power splay FAN .Rather change the power splay if the fan is not working or u can fix the Fan or bring it to me. this is the Reason why computers restart Randomly .
