  1. it could be many factors...1.you dont apply much spin on it...or you hit too high over the net.....or your headface racquet is not close while hitting the ball....

  2. Upon ball impact with the racket, keep the racket face parallel to the net, do not let the racket face the sky.

The rule: the ball goes to the deirection where the racket faces.

Same results whether in forehand or backhand srokes.

  3. Many factors--but if I were to guess you might not be turning and bending your knees--an open stance without shoulder rotation is going to cause the ball to go higher--also you might be hitting a bit late--last thing racket placement? If you want to hit a low slice for example you are going to have to move the racket from high to low completely through the ball.

  4. I play tennis and my coach taught me....tennis is all about control. To make it to where the ball doesn't go so high you have to not use so much force and make sure you are not pointing your racket(the strings) up too high...Also, hitting the ball high in the air is called lobbing and it is actually a good thing to do depending on how high you hit it and where it is in the air. See...when you hit it in the air (if its on the other side of the court) it causes your opponent(s) to look in the air to try and keep track of it. When it is in the air it is harder to keep track of therefore it could drop down where they don't see it. Specially when the sun is up. (yes it may sound mean, but hey its a strategy that helps you) So don't think that hitting it high is wrong...cuz its not always wrong...depending.

  5. Well you have to realize that if the ball is approaching low on you, you must hit up on the ball and then whip your forearm/wrist to create enough topspin to bring the ball back down. Of course you could just use heavy topspin and create fits for your opponent if you can get the ball deep enough. But if you are noob, its most likely that you unintentionally angle your racket up too much in fear of hitting the net on those low balls.

Solution: have someone feed you approach shots and practice whipping your forehand with a semi-western grip. backhand - continental.

  6. I used to have this problem.  On low hits make sure you get under the ball, bend your knees, and most importantly FINISH LOW.  That way your stroke will stay with the ball longer.  Also, adjust your stroke so you are going more outwards.  In other words, go through the ball more.  Hope that helps

  7. hit with low pressure
