Question:

Sometimes when I close my eyes, I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster, why?

A lot of the time, when I am going to bed, when I close my eyes I feel like my bed is gone and that my body is just floating around. Somtimes I feel like I am going up, somestime like I am going down. Everytime I open my eyes it stops, but as soon as I close my eyes, it starts again, and the longer I leave my eyes closed the faster it seems to feel.

It's kinda cool feeling, but still would like to know what it is...

And no, I'm not on drugs and don't drink (incase anyone things that's what it is)

Anyone who can help, is greatly appreciated.

  1. i have that sometimes too, i dont know why either!!!

  2. ya that happened to me, its just adrenaline because like one day i went on a 20 mile bike ride and for the whole night i felt like i was riding a bike. Or once, i had a dream that i was on a scary suspension bridge that wobbled, and i felt like that.

  3. REM. rapid eye movement

  4. Your dreams and subconcious are trying to tell you your future and the profession that awaits you. Unfortunately this profession of yours is unclear to me

  5. There is fluid in your ears that assists with your balance.  When you spin around several times then stop, the fluid in your ears continues to slosh around (like in a mixing bowl).  Since the fluid is moving, your brain thinks you are still moving.  This is why you get "dizzy"

This is what is happening to you.  Some people are more prone to dizziness, and it sounds like you are very prone to it.  When you lay down quickly, the fluid in your ears moves, normally your eyes are all it takes to tell your brain that you aren't moving and it fixes the problem, but when you laydown and close your eyes, you loose this extra check.... your brain thinks you are still trying to lie down which is what makes you feel "weight less".  When you open your eyes, you brain figures it out again, but when you close them again it goes back.

    Nothing to worry about.

  6. Your equilibrium is off. It's like when you are riding in a moving vehicle but are facing backwards and you feel like you are getting sick. Your eyes aren't seeing the same thing that your body is feeling (actually it's the inner ear that is the sensitive part) and so it makes you have different sensations:)

  7. weird things happen to my eyes when i close them. first of all they light up, then my body feels like its shooting forward on my bed going fast, and i also see dark figures like people walking backwards and forwards. i felt like i was on a rollercoaster once :)

  8. Maybe becuzz u like rollercoaster or u just want to ride one so ur prolly just thinking ur on one becuzz u wanna b on one

  9. haha i get similair things too !!! it happens to me if i've resently been to a wave pool or been on lots of rides.  i feel as though i'm still on them when i close my eyes.

other than this sometimesd when i close my eyes there will be a ton of colors and theres this object that is super close like touching my eye but yet i can see the whole thing and its totally creepy but cool too. haha and sometimes i feel like i'm floating around to, idk why it happens either.

  10. Possibly vertigo. I have that same thing happen to me too.

When your eyes are closed and you are lying in bed does it ever feel like a distance from something that is in arms reach feels like 30 feet away? I get that as well.
