Somrone took my car to a dealer and tried to trade it in on another car and thr dealer did a contract on it ?

  1. No it's not legal.  You must have some nice friends that tried to trade your car in.


  2. No, it's not legal. The dealer will soon find out the the "someone" does not have the car's title and is not the owner -- and has no right to try to trade it. The contract will be voided. Furthermore, the dealer may call the police to report the fraud.

    If you are the sole owner of the car and your name is on the title, no one else can do a deal or start a contract on your car.

    Phone the dealer and say you are the rightful owner, you have proof that the car is in your name and you are not interested in trading it in on another vehicle.
