Son Heung-Min keen to emulate Andre Schurrle at Bayer Leverkusen – Football News

South Korean international, Son Heung-Min, has admitted that he will try his best to emulate the success Andre Schurrle had achieved at Bayer Leverkusen. The attacker was signed as a replacement to the German international, who
left for Jose Mourinho’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 earlier this week. Son was signed as part of a €10 million deal from Hamburg SV despite interest from some of the top sides in Europe.
Son stated that he is excited to play in the UEFA Champions League with Bayer Leverkusen next season and is looking forward to cement his place in the starting line-up. The player insisted that there have been many individuals
who have taken their first step at Leverkusen and have had a very successful career with the club.
The former Hamburg SV man added that he wants to excel as Schurrle did during his time at BayArena and is confident that the Factory Squad will be fighting for major honours in the next campaign.
“Playing in the Champions League is a very interesting prospect for me. And a lot of players have already made the next step up in their development at Leverkusen, with Schurrle as a good example,” he was quoted as saying in an
interview.
On the other hand, the 20-year-old is keen on developing further as he is targeting a successful 2014 World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858. He is also thankful to the Hamburg fans for the time at the club and admitted that the fans will always
remain in his heart.
“I think it is quite important for me to keep on developing, also with an eye on the 2014 World Cup. I can only thank HSV and their fans for all their support. Hamburg will forever have a place in my heart,” he concluded.
Son Heung-Min is regarded as one of the most talented young players to be playing in the German Bundesliga. The attacker was in sensational form for the Red Shorts last term as he found the net on 12 occasions in the 34 games he
took part in. The player made a total of 78 appearances for Hamburg SV and scored 20 goals in the process.
