hello, i am an a us citizen my fiance is a uk citizen. our son was born in canada.... what are the steps i would need to take for my son to be recognized as a us & uk citizen?

  1. "Curious " is right.  You ABSOLUTELY need to go to both embassies...both parents and the infant must go together.  You must register the child's birth at both embassies to assure that his citizenship is established.

As far as the US is concerned, your son is a US citizen at birth, based on your US citizenship.  You should have the birth registered at the nearest US foreign mission in Canada.  Likewise, your son is considered a British citizen by registration, since his father is a British citizen, in spite of your lack of a legal union - contact the nearest British High Commission.
