Son flying with me - different last names?

My 8 year old son with be flying within the US with me at the end of the month. He doesn't have my last name though and I'm wondering if I will need any additional records for him. His mother already gave me a copy of birth certificate and his school immunization records. Any idea if having a different last name will make a difference?

I have flown internationally with my children who have a different last name than mine with no issues.  Take the birth certificate jsut to be on the safe side.  I don't think you will need the immunization records though.
