So, this boy seems to like to get my son to do stuff and he ends up getting into trouble but not for big things but today evidently the other boy threw a rock and hit my son on the top of the head causing him to bleed and gave him a knot on his head, and my son threw one back in defense and hit the other boy's neck. I know this behavior wasn't right and my husband and I talked to him about this supposibly both the boy's lost their field trip for thursday which was to the movies. My son is upset but understands why. I told him he was fairly warne not to throw rocks like because it can hurt someone. I gave him a hug, told him we love him but are not happy with his behavior.

Did I do the right thing? This is the FIRST time he has been into trouble this bad.

He is in first grade

  1. Yes you did, you let your son know that you love him and always will but he has to realize that all of his actions have consequences.  If he wouldn't have thrown the rock back he would get to go on the trip but since he chose to throw it then he has to stay behind.  If you would have went on the defensive and said but the other kid threw it first then he would always feel he could do whatever he wants because mom is going to justify it this way he knows you don't approve and he is being punished for it but you still love him.

  2. yeah just tell him (and it seems you did) two wrongs dont make a right (boy will he freak when he gets to algebra and finds they do LOL) and tellin him you loved him was a good move it makes it hit home more

:) thanks for laughin soulja girl

  3. Yes, you did the right thing but if the other boy is continuing to be a problem, you should talk to his parents.

  4. lol Tim dat waz funny

  5. Yes you did the right thing.  He is too young for you to punish him more.  He is just being a first grade boy.  It would be different if he was older and throwing rocks and breaking windows.  You did great!  He learned his lesson quite well by losing his field trip.

  6. By the time movie day gets here, he will not remember why he is being punished.  And his little head will probably still be hurting.

  7. I think you did the right thing.  This other boy sounds like he might be a bully.  Is he older?  Does your school have a bully prevention program?  I would keep my eyes and ears open, and learn all I could about bullying

  8. i think you did right
