  1. i only charge 15 dollars an hour i will fly over there rite now

  2. Math U See is wonderful! They have an assesment test you can give him. www.mathusee.com

  3. I would speak to the school in the first instance as they will only be to pleased to have a parent so supportive of their child. Most schools have 'booster' classes for children where extra help is given, these will have extra material and the school will...or shoud share with you. Failing this they will point you in the right direction of material to use.

  4. Target Maths yr 5 by Stephen Pearce  www.elmwoodpress.co.uk   that is what im using on my daughter

  5. I strongly recommend that you obtain one of the following books:

"So you really want to learn maths" Book 1 (for years 5 & 6)

    or

"Junior Maths" Book 2 (for ages 8-9)

The latter would be better if your son is struggling.  Both are published by Galore Park and are specifically written for Independent schools:

When  your son is at Year 7 level  the STP National Curriculum Mathematics series published by Nelson Thornes is also excellent.  Sadly they do not cover KS2, but start off with one of the Galore Park books and he'll do fine.  GP have an excellent reputation and I use their books for my daughter wherever possible.

    Good luck!

  6. If you are in the uk why dont you buy key stage 2 maths books from a good book store that you could do with him.  They also have practise test papers aswell.  Also there is the bbc.co.uk/schools web page as well that helps with maths

  7. go to www.bbc.co.uk/skillwise they have loads of info, tutoring and practice maths questions as well as other subjects. Also purchase Maths:The Basic Skills. This is an excellent book that explains basic maths in detail.

  8. The primary national strategy places great emphasis on mental calculation strategies and models and images can help this.

You can apply for a copy of the documentation and get extra help from teacher net publications.  The bitesize websites are also good.  Try and make maths as fun as possible and incorporate it into every day life i.e. shopping, recipes.
