Question:

Son takeing Diaper off and Peeing?

My son is 13 months old and has gotten into the habit of taking off his diaper and peeing. He'll reach into his pants when we're not looking and 2 seconds later he pulls it out of his pants and hands it too me. A split second later, he pees. The comes what can only be described as a 'victory dance'

What does this mean? Does he just want to pee on stuff? Humor maybe?

Ideas?

  1. Start putting him on the potty when you think he's ready to pee.  You might have an early bloomer on the potty training front!  He's really just experimenting, trying to see what will happen, how you will react.  Try putting him in onesies, to keep the diaper on, and, keep an eye on him, to learn the cues for when he is getting ready, then take him straight to the potty and start training him.

I find that, if I am on top of things, taking him to the potty every hour, usually does the trick of both keeping the diaper clean, and teaching him how to use the potty.  It is probably not to early.  I think this is a sign, and don't get discouraged if it still takes a year, but don't be surprised if it doesn't!

  2. He probably doesn't like the feeling of being wet. maybe he's ready to be potty trained

  3. Just means he likes to do it.  My boys were both like that as are most of my nephews.  Didn't seem to have that problem with the girls in the family only the boys so who knows maybe they think it is funny.  I have known just about every male in my family younger than me to pull off his diaper and end up peeing all over the floor.  Most of the moms thought this meant they could be pottytrained but nope most of them were about 4 years old when they were fully pottytrained

  4. lol that is hilarious

  5. all boys are like that.just wait till they pee on a tree!lolmaybe he's tryin g to let u know he's ready for the potty chair.

  6. He could be ready to be potty trained...Eventhough he is still very young, you may want to give it a shot.

  7. Oddly enough it sounds like your son may be ready to potty train even at that young age. If he knows when he needs to pee enough to remove his diaper and hand it to you then pee. he knows that function. He also knows you wont leave him wet so he wont be wet like in his diaper and the dance... well thats just cute but also may be a sign that he got his way again and wont have to be wet.... good luck.
