My middle 8 year old son wets the bed at night and has been wearing goodnites since he started. Now we wants to switch back to Pull-Ups for nighttime because of the Cars designs on the pullups. He said he doesn't like the Goodnites soccer designs. Should i let him switch?

  1. Honestly, goodnites and pullups are the same thing as far as I'm concerned.  I have twin boys and had tried goodnites in hope that they would be more absorbent than pullups since they were for older kids.  My four year old is on the biggest size of pullups, are you sure your 8 year old would fit into pullups?

Probably what I would do, is

    1.  Take him to the store and buy him some Cars Underwear.

    2.  Get him up around midnight  (or before you got to bed) to go to the bathroom.

    3.  Limit the amount of liquids he has after dinner.

  2. No, I wouldn't.  I did think pull ups and goodnites were the same.  My 9 year old step-son wears the Goodnites, as the pull-ups are a smaller size.....they wouldn't fit him properly, and we would end up with wet sheets.

For those here who have answered in a derogatory way about a boy this age wetting his bed, it is very common, and it is not fair to judge about it.  It is something some of us live with every day, and is not always a medical problem.  Not everyone stops wetting the bed by the book.

  3. No - Maybe you could set up a reward of getting some big boy undies with the cars he wants if he isn't wetting the bed any more. Talk to your doctor to narrow down why he is still wetting the bed.

  4. tell him no

  5. If he can still fit into them, I say why not?  From what I've seen, they are cheaper than Goodnights.  As long as he doesn't start to want to wear Pull-ups during the day, I think there's nothing to worry about.

  6. I would say no-don't give him the thing he wants most away from underwear.

Have you talked to the doctor about this? Is it a medical thing or a mental thing?

  7. no your 8 year old son shouldn't be wearing goodnites.my friend used to wet the bed and her mum bought her a waterproof sheet to go on the bed. =]

  8. I dont see why not that is what my 13 year old daughter wears pull ups maybe the desgin will motivate him

  9. What the heck if he wants to switch let him switch to pull ups just hope he still can fit into the pull ups he chooses good luck
