Question:

Sonar LE software MIDI problem?

I bought the C0U1 USB Microphone that came with Sonar LE Software. I have been using Audacity to record, but its very limited with effects and stuff for good production so I decided to check this out.

On starting the software up after installing it, it asked me to select a MIDI output and if I didn't I wouldn't be able to hear anything play. There is only one option to select which says Microsoft MIDI Mapper, after selecting it and clicking ok it says I still haven't selected a MIDI output?

Ive no idea what MIDI is and what its really for but is there a way to by pass this? maybe use some other type of output to hear?

  1. Midi basically is for digital input and output of music, here's a link for more details on MIDI http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_Ins...

Normally you should have more than just Microsoft MIDI Mapper, so you should go to control panel Sound and Audio Devices Properties, to enable/select your sound card devices, then you should have more choice in the MIDI output

Anyway, after the installation of the software, you should able to locate preferences/options from one of the menu dropdown, go there, you would be able to set the MIDI output which you missed.

    Hope this helps.
