Song Writing?

Question

I really admire people who can write really great songs.

I really like to write songs, but whenever I'm reading them over again they sound really dumb.

Does anyone have any advice on where I can get ideas for my songs or how to write really good songs?

just don't think and write whatever is on your mind

then you can edit and be judgemental

well i write poems

and sometimes the same thing happens to me so i prefere to write songs when ever there is something that is really on my mind and just kinda go from there

Don't think too much about it. Let something inspire you like an exciting event in your life or an emotional happening. Just let it happen... these are how all the best songs are made. I hope this helps!
