The Cameroonian midfielder, who recently signed for Barcelona, admitted that his coach, Tito Vilanova, spoke to him before the game and it really helped him calm down and gain confidence.

Even though many thought that the Catalan giants do not need to sign him during the summer transfer window, Tito Vilanova tried to prove them wrong as he played him in the first team against Valencia over the weekend.
The home fixture against Valencia was a crucial one, especially after Real Madrid managed to draw the game 1-1 against the same team.
However, Vilanova was courageous enough to play the newly signed player in the first team and Alex Song started the fixture in the holding midfield position, with the first-team regular, Sergio Busquets, on the bench.
Song was able to impress the audience with his brilliant passing, and ball-winning skills.
During the game, the Cameroonian midfielder was able to complete 61 out of 67 passes which he played. Moreover, Song only committed two fouls while he managed to win the ball 5 times.
The Catalan crowd should be impressed by this brilliant performance which the Cameroonian star was able to give out, especially since Sergio Busquets rarely makes a mistake in the midfield and is a first-choice player for La Blaugrana.
