An investigation has been launched by the local police, who are looking into the matter with great concern, as they look to find out just who attacked the player and bring them to justice.
As a result of their loss to Libya, Cameroon are no longer sitting on top of Group I and are now sitting in the third place. This could be considered to be one of the reasons for the fans to get so angry, but to single out one player and hold him responsible
for the loss is rather ridiculous to say the least.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865 team is currently also set to play in a qualifier for the 2013 African Cup of Nations. Based on the incident involving Song, it is quite unclear if the midfielder is going to go on and participate in the upcoming game or not.
This past season, Song managed to break out of the shell of being just a holding midfielder for Arsenal. He went on to create a lot of plays for his team and was considered to be a much more attacking player at the end of the season.

It is now up to the officials in the area to sort out the issue, or Cameroon could see Song heading back to the Emirates much earlier than he intended to.
