  1. try songs from any musical thats been performed depending on whta your trying out for

  2. Things to avoid...

Entire Overdone Shows That Directors Are Sick Of

Any show that the company you are auditioning for has done in the last five years.

Whatever the "Hot New Musical" is... right now it's Wicked

    The Sound of Music

    A Chorus Line

    Rent

    My Fair Lady

    Titanic

    Footloose

    Grease

    Jekyll & Hyde

    Little Shop of Horrors

    The Fantastiks

    Les Miserables

    Phantom of the Opera

    Evita

    (from http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/pe...

the songs i found in a search on that site include:

    Little Lamb (Gypsy)

    Meadow Lark (The Baker's Wife)

    The Alto's Lament

The Dark I know Well (Spring Awakening)

    Naughty Baby (Crazy for You)

I'll Waitin' for my dearie (Brigadoon)

    Another Op'nin (Kiss Me Kate)

How Could I ever Know and A fine White Horse (the secret garden)

My New Philosophy (You're a good man, charlie brown)

Green Finch and Linnet Bird (Sweeney todd) [although i'd advise against it as the film is so popular at the mo]

    Finer things (Jane Eyre)

    The gods Love Nubia (Aida)

Hopefully that's a good enough selection for you, and maybe you'll know some of them already!

  3. Whats that song from "Rent" whatever its called I like that one.

  4. What are you auditioning for?  You should sing a song which is in a similar style to the show you're auditioning for - if you can manage it, the same composer but a different show is ideal.  Stay away from anything which is big on Broadway right now (Wicked, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, Avenue Q, RENT, Les Mis and Phantom) as they're all overdone.

  5. angel baby by angelica, you say by lisa loeb

  6. everyone has a head voice its called falsetto or are you trying to say you are a soprano? broadway music isnt divided up by age. alot of it is very technical. the best way to pick a song is to find one you like that is in your range. also if you are auditioning for a broadway show you may want to do one from that show. do youhave music training at all?

  7. Thinking Of No-one But Me from Me And My Girl. This is a really good audition song if you are confident.

Take It On The Chin from Me And My Girl. This is an equally good audition song, but it's more jazzy.

Good luck in your audition =)

  8. Don't Rain on My Parade from Funny Girl.
