Song lyrics! help! slow, sappy piano song?

Question

I heard it at the end of my friend's video yearbook, so it's kind of a prom song. It's slow, and there's only piano in the background. The only lyrics I remember are "how my heart beats." It's a guy singing, and his voice is really hard to understand, so that's why I can't remember any of the lyrics! The artist sounds kinda like a singer-songwriter.
