NBC keeps playing it when they cut to commercial. Its not any of the olympic songs but rather its from a musical or opera. Its been stuck in my head for days and cant figure it out.

  1. As for the music NBC uses, they have actually merged two pieces together as well as using them separately. The first is "Bugler's Dream" written by Leo Arnaud and currently is a frankensteined version conducted by John Williams and Arnaud. The second piece of music NBC uses is "Summon the Heroes" written and conducted by John Williams. The YouTube video link I posted contains both music pieces as a background to various Beijing Olympics photos.

  2. Billy,

There are several songs that are used by the Olympics.

There are three title songs to the Beijing Olympics:

    1. Our Olympics

    2. Dreams are made of silver and gold

    3. Freedom for Tibet

The song they play on tv is called Bugler's Dream composed by Leo Arnaud. It is often considered the Olympic anthem. It is very well known in that both ABC and NBC use it for their coverage of the Olympic Games both Summer and Winter.

    Enjoy!
